Services offered
Residential Home Site Preparation
If you are building a new home or adding on to your existing home, we have the ability to get your project started. A new home site build starts with the excavator. We clear the lot, install your driveway, cut a path for the well driller, dig the basement and footers, and install foundation drains, gutter drains, and septic. We then handle backfill and rough grade for your landscaper, or finish with final grade, seed, and straw. Erosion and sediment control requirements are met throughout the build.
Gravel Road Installation, Repair & Maintenance
As part of new residential home sites we can install your driveway, including any culvert installations required. We install and repair new construction driveways and private roads, and work with VA DOT on culvert pipes for new entrances. Once installed, your driveway will need upkeep, so check out our semi-annual and annual maintenance contracts on the driveway maintenance tab.

We install culvert pipes for new driveways per your VDOT permit as well as install culverts in existing driveways. We can help with drainage solutions around your home as well. French drains, foundation drains and gutter drains just to name a few items that may help resolve drainage problems.
Agricultural Land Management
Keeping agriculture growing in Virginia is important to us, as is being a good steward of the land. We offer bush hogging pastures, land clearing for new fence installation, livestock fence installation, and road and driveway entrance clearing, along with keeping fence rows clear and free of undergrowth and invasive plants.

How do I know if my septic system needs repair or replacement?
A few signs to look for when your septic system may not be working correctly are:

- Sewage back up in toilets and sometimes shower drains
- Distinct sewage odor outdoors at your leach field
- Continuous wet area around leach field when conditions are dry, which will also create unusually green grass growing
What are the steps to install or repair a failing septic system?
You must first contact a licensed soil consultant so they may discuss either your need for new construction installation or if a repair is needed. The soil consultant will draw the design of the system you need based on your home site. Once you have received an approved permit from the VA Department of Health, you can then contact a licensed septic installer for an estimate. The Department of Health can provide you with a list of licensed soil consultants.
Do I need a permit to install or replace a culvert?
- If you are installing a new construction culvert; you would need to contact Virginia Dept of Transportation for their review of installing a new driveway entrance from a state maintained road.
- If you are installing culvert pipes in an existing driveway to mitigate drainage issues, you do not need a permit.
What's involved in preparing a site for a new home build?
If you are planning to build on your own without a licensed contractor; we would suggest consulting with a general contractor to assist through the many steps your county may require for permits and to ensure you are working with licensed trades throughout the process.
How long does a septic system installation take?
Depending upon the permit, on average five days for installation, inspection after installation and backfill. Septic installations are weather dependent.
Do you clear fence lines and overgrown or wooded lots?
We offer land management options for clearing property to prepare to install new fencing for livestock as well as clearing your residential lot for a new home site.
